As a continuing appropriation from the general fund, the amounts in the schedule for the maintenance and development of state parks under ch. 27; of recreation areas, other than game or fish refuges, in state forests under ch. 28; of lands owned, managed, supervised or controlled by the department in the lower Wisconsin state riverway as defined in s. 30.40 (15); and of other recreational lands owned by the department, and for the maintenance of the ice age trail. Of the amounts appropriated under this paragraph, $50,000 may be expended only to match at the ratio of 1 to 1 funds received under par. (gg) from a county, city, village, town or organization after August 9, 1989, that are given specifically for the purchase of equipment and materials for maintenance of the ice age trail. At least $150,000 in each fiscal year shall be expended from this appropriation for maintaining and developing historic sites at least $10,000 of which shall be expended in each fiscal year for maintaining and developing Heritage Hill state park.

The department may expend up to $400,000 from this appropriation in each fiscal year for state park and forest roads and roads in the lower Wisconsin state riverway as defined in s. 30.40 (15) under s. 84.28 and shall expend the balance from the appropriation for the maintenance of roads which are not eligible for funding under s. 84.28.
